A bit of history. Willoughby Stewart was founded in 1978 by our esteemed and much loved Chairman, Trafford Corke, who was responsible for some original and innovative branding work for companies such as International Paint, Lewmar Marine, Henri-Lloyd and one of our most iconic brands, Spam.
Willoughby Stewart grew successfully as a full service agency during the 80's and 90's, specialising in the marine and leisure industries and building an enviable portfolio of international clients and brands. Peter Corke, son of the much loved Chairman, joined in 2000, expanding the agency's client service capabilities and bringing greater emphasis to the digital and new media
-
fields. Peter became Managing Director in 2003.
In February 2008 we added a second office location with the acquisition of GKP - Graham Kerr Promotions - a specialist operator in the drinks industry, giving them the ability to expand the facilities and service available to their own client base.In the summer of 2008, we joined forces with a trusted supplier to create Tiger Global, a business specialising in global sourcing and distribution. We are now part of a group of strategic partnership businesses with more than 35 employees across four offices, including one in Shanghai. The Willoughby Stewart family continues to blossom.

Any brand, particularly your brand, is precious. So when we say "We love working on brand" it's because some of the most rewarding and exciting challenges ever presented to us by our clients, have resulted in the work of which we're most proud.
The development or evolution of a growing branddepends on your brief as well as on our talents; so first, we'll work with you to investigate the ways in which your brand impacts on its end-user and establish your ongoing hopes and aspirations for the brand. We'll identify its 'character' and agree on the proposition it should present, establish the look and tone of voice for the core identity and messaging - and present you with a practical
-
implementation plan.
Every client wants the ability to 'police' brand use. Our unique systems solve the problem with clever solutions such as artwork templates, image libraries, central information databases and project management tools - all designed to free up your marketing team's valuabletime and deliver cost savings that will be a revolution to you. That's why we love working on brand!

In a nutshell, we believe the very definition of a full-service agency is that it must have, at its heart, the ability and experience to offer you an array of creative and supporting promotion services. These should come together seamlessly to deliver a through-the-line campaign - or a series of campaigns, each more powerful than the last. Most important of all perhaps, you and your
team must feel confident and comfortable working with us to achieve genuine results of which we can all be proud.
Planning the creative. Judging by the long, productive and enjoyable relationships we've had with so many clients over the years, our disciplined approach to briefing and account management has been pretty -
successful. We like to think the same applies to the creative responses we deliver, whether in answer to a specific brief as a result of our own analysis, research and initiative. Certainly we pride ourselves on maintaining the highest standards of design, graphics, copywriting and artwork - and on its impact and originality. Not to mention the down-to-earth subject of
practical and cost effective implementation.
One source. Many skills. The ability to work creatively and effectively across a wide range of promotional disciplines - from print ads and P-o-S through to events, exhibitions and video - and to coordinate and manage projects in a disciplined, quantifiable way, is another -
strength of our multi-skilled team. This single-source responsibility allows us to work very efficiently and to take a substantial weight of detailed admin off your desk. Our creativity, experience and company-wide dedication to client reporting and accountability really work for you in today's cost-conscious business environment.

Do you really have control of your brand and its usage on a global basis, 24/7? Are you looking to manage your brand centrally and see it correctly presented all over the world? We can give you that control with an array of unique systems that integrate seamlessly with your off-line activity.
Making the most of your website. We specialise in building innovative customer-facing sites that maximise your on-line presentation, using cutting-edge design and Search Engine Optimisation techniques to drive up visitor numbers.
When it comes to E-commerce we help you use the -
web to sell efficiently and economically. Our sophisticated data capture systems generate leads and minimise lost opportunities - and we combine them with secure Extranet systems that are truly integrated, not just with your websites or e-shops, but also with your own IT infrastructure. The result is minimised data entry, maximised accuracy and new levels of efficiency.
Using on-line systems to create materials in local language and content is both fast and cost effective. Our on-line resources provide authorised brand users with a customised 'tool kit' of marketing materials, so they can create consistent promotions from central templates. On-line design and image libraries and automated artworking systems are just the start - full CRM systems
-
can be integrated to control the way your brand interacts with customers anywhere in the world. Best of all perhaps, we deliver what every brand owner really wants - total control over the where, when and how of their brand's presentation on-line.

Large or small - one-off or a million. Put simply, we can manage and produce print that exactly meets your requirements.
We commission print runs involving millions of high quality catalogues in multiple languages. By contrast, we also produce complex technical manuals, including thedesign and technical content, for very high-end luxury products - which can be individually personalised in both content and language.
It starts with the art. Usually, we're responsible for the creative work that drives the project, so our studio team prides itself on a very high level of repro quality, with all -
artwork, colour profiling and PDF output to recognised ISO standards.
Meeting local needs. Our powerful on-line systems can create print-ready artwork with unique language and content - to short timescales. So you need 25 languages, including non-European character sets such as Arabic orMandarin? No problem. You'd like the artwork sets produced simultaneously to facilitate printing all languages in one cost effective run? Of course.
The power of personalisation. Our latest database systems personalise print materials to a high degree and we integrate them with digital printing. We're very careful -
who we choose to actually put ink onto your paper. Long-established relationships with specialist printers around the world allow us to deliver print you'll be truly proud of.
-
-
-
Single source simplicity. Most clients call on us to help build their media strategies, followed by scheduling and space purchase. Our media buying experience not only saves cost, but allows us to provide a co-ordinated single-source facility for what is a very complex, time-consuming task for any internal marketing team.
It's fair to say too, that staff with the specialist skills and experience to deal efficiently with media control are rarely found in any but the largest in-house departments.
Delivering the creative. We design and write relevant, eye-catching creative that meets objectives - and we like to think that a glance at our work should be proof -
enough. Once the creative platform is agreed, we output all the materials to meet the schedule and our reprographics team executes any image creation or retouching required, before creating the media-ready artwork. Colour matching and PDF output are to ISO standards.
Giving you control. For on-going production schedules, our innovative on-line systems can generate artwork templates for multiple campaigns. Even staff unskilled in the creative process can prepare artwork dynamically, on demand, from templates you have pre-approved. This eliminates the cost of continually supplying versions of artwork to media and print houses - and brings
-
production times crashing down. These custom-developed systems give you control of brand image standards and deliver consistent messaging across campaigns, or continents.

-
Our message is simple. It's almost impossible to maintain cohesion, quality and consistency of brand presentation if you succumb to the temptation of working with multiple suppliers for these vital marketing tools. You need one creative, cost effective package. Which is where we can help.
We can do it. Whatever promotional items you have in mind, we can design, source and supply them. Brief us on the campaign objectives and we'll offer you exciting, creative and practical proposals for right-price, on-time materials.
Take the hands-off approach. Storage, fulfilment and -
comprehensive programme management not just for the UK, but globally. A number of clients are taking things a stage further by outsourcing procurement of all their promotion materials to us, giving their brand managers more time to spend on profitable business. Our transparent margins and fully auditable systems cut down supervision and admin, while our supplier database gives
them a massive choice of products. For some brands, we develop and administrate every aspect of their merchandising programmes and take full responsibility for brand guardianship while they get on with what they do best.
Not many brand agencies specialise in the procurement -
of branded goods direct from source. We do. The Shanghai office of our sister company, Tiger Global, deals direct with manufacturers to procure products and distribute them globally.

Or we can design and custom-build from scratch. Either way, our experienced team delivers, installs and dismantles, freeing up valuable time for you to spend with customers.
-
Corporate or private? We adopt the same professional approach to corporate and private events. Nothing is more important than 'getting it right' on the day (or night) so we offer a bespoke service for press days, charity events, product launches or receptions.

Imaging is a subject close to our hearts. The striking and innovative creative work we've been known for over the years has, at its core, great visual appeal and outstanding photography. To any developing or established brand, it can make the difference between a strong campaign and a truly great one.
Setting standards. Most agencies rely on outside resources for photography, but we believe the visual image is so important, we've created an in-house unit that works as an integral part of our creative team, from brief to delivery. We have a full time photographer as well as a video cameraman and editor on staff - imagine the difference that makes when it comes to developing your
-
campaign. We take it further too. Our studio is equipped with the most sophisticated, colour correct imaging equipment capable of guaranteeing PDF output to ISO standards. What's more, we even have our own High Definition, broadcast quality edit suite in-house and we work straight from hard drive cameras, enabling us to handle all the post-production work.
The sky's the limit. Shooting on, over or under water is one of our specialities. From studio imagery to photography on site - to 3-D imagery for the web - to full-blown, week-long shoots on location in foreign countries. All in all, we've got the team and the experience to create the perfect picture.

A way with words. At Willoughby Stewart, we 'speak' in many tongues; Italian one minute, French the next - and when it comes to reaching out to a market in its own language, our experience is second to none. For example, we manage the translation and artwork of a particular set of product catalogues in up to 26 languages, including proof-checking and content-control in liaison
with distributors around the world.
Command and control. From translation through to artwork, then from print to fulfilment - we can look after any or all aspects of the project. We keep costs down by using advanced on-line automated artworking and memory translation systems that store content in a -
client-specific database. For printed materials we have systems that allow uploading of artwork so that translators can produce and approve artwork for printed materials on-line, in real time.
For on-line, we offer full content management systems with administrator access, allowing you or yourtranslators to control content 24/7 from anywhere in the world, in any number of languages.
We give you confidence. We help you speak readily and accurately to your world markets - with levels of speed and cost effectiveness that are hard to find.

When you need something - anything - sourced, stored or distributed, we can help. Ours is a comprehensive service that knows few boundaries in terms of the type of goods we can handle or the type of project you can throw at us. From branded merchandise to promotional offers, we use the latest digital systems and a highly experienced teamwork ethic to maximise
cost effectiveness and efficiency.
Flexibility is the key. No two projects have the same parameters, and it's our breadth of capability that makes us different. We tailor our service to deliver you a stress-free project management experience that few other companies can match. -
Our warehousing facility is tailored to deliver fulfilment services for mainstream products as well as promotional or brand materials, so it's insured to carry a wide range of goods. It's worth remembering that we're licensed too, so we can stock and despatch alcohol.
Shopping on-line. We've developed an advanced, fullycustomisable e-shop facility that allows you to create and submit orders for fulfilment - they'll then be picked, packed and despatched within 24 hours. Because we'll build the system around your requirements, you'll use an administrator's log-in to view all orders, see sales and monitor stocks.

We get under the skin of brands by understanding them and giving them the TLC they deserve. Getting them noticed in all the right ways and in all the right places is what we do best. We could ramble on for hours about what great work we've done for our clients... but don't take our word for it, see for yourself.

Our Brief: As a purveyor of high quality yachts to the discerning customer, Fairline needed to produce a brochure that fully reflected the craft, quality and skill that goes into every one of their boats. As a truly international brand they also wanted something that could be presented with confidence anywhere in the world; and they also had to combat the eternal problem of trophy
brochure-hunters found at every boat show and dealer location.
Our Solution: We created two principal brochures, each in seven languages. One was a more concise catalogue in the style of a range summary, still with superb, emotive photography and stylish text. The second however, was a -
more lavish hardback book that would look the part on the most elegant of coffee tables. As well as yet more fantastic photography and tempting text, this book featured comprehensive details of each model and a full introduction to Fairline and its 'A Rare Passion' brand values. We also created Fabric Options books and Price Lists to match, so that all the print collateral worked
together as a seamless set. Fairline have been a client of Willoughby Stewart for over 20 years, so it's fair to say we have a good working relationship. We worked closely with them to agree the look, format and pagination for each brochure. Once they'd signed off our ideas, we wrote all of the copy, art directed all of the photography and imaging - and output the artwork for the master
-
catalogues. In addition to the brochures we also co-ordinated the language translations, created all of the foreign language artwork and organised signing-off by Fairline's local distributors. To finish off, we organised the print production and fulfilment and the despatch to the global dealership network.
Our Result: Over 70,000 printed catalogues in seven languages were sent to over 60 individual dealerships around the globe without a hitch. The brochure-hunter had his trophy while the real prospects had something more substantial to savour in the hardback brochure.

Our Brief: From thrill-seeking youngsters to those simply looking for a cool way to get around, snowmobiling appeals to individuals of any age. And the appeal is catching on: the popularity of snowmobiling has spread to traditional European ski and winter sport destinations like France, Austria, Italy, Czech Republic, Poland and of course Scandinavia and Finland. We were asked by
Yamaha to create a brochure for their 2009 range of machines that would appeal to distributors, dealers and customers alike.
Our Solution: Time was against us and we knew that we had to design a brochure that would be read in almost a dozen languages. We decided that the natural -
segmentation of the Snowmobiles gave us the opportunity to not only clearly define but also firmly position the units with their target sector groups, Sport, Cross-over, Mountain, Grand Touring, Light Utility and Wide Track.
Our Result: Having worked with Yamaha for many yearsproducing their marine brochures we applied the same principles in our approach to the design, layout and content of the Snowmobile brochure. In addition to the product overviews we also had to ensure that we included information about the fantastic 4-stroke engines and the variety of suspension units that had made the Yamaha Snowmobile, with its racing heritage, a machine
-
that would appeal to the many different kinds of Snowmobile rider. We wrote all of the copy, including the introduction of the new models to the line up, and were responsible for all of the imaging. We also oversaw the multiple language translations and preparation of all artwork to print-ready standard.
Yamaha were so pleased with the end result that they immediately asked us to develop their Dealer Guide, advertising templates and a range of point-of-sale materials.

Our Brief: James Bond is just about the most iconic film franchise that there is and Yamaha were delighted to be given the opportunity to feature key product in the latest movie, Quantum of Solace. Under the agreement Yamaha would also be entitled to promote the partnership through merchandise opportunities.
Our Solution: In discussion with Yamaha, and working closely with the film production company, we devised both press and distributor information sheets as well as ideas for a host of merchandising items including posters and banners for use by Yamaha distributors and dealers throughout Europe. These had to tie in with the opening of the movie in order to allow for maximum exposure
-
from the promotion.
Our Result: The movie opened to huge and eager audiences across Europe and in one of the longest and most exciting sequences in the film, the boat chase reveals the company's outboard engines powering the boats in a high speed chase. Yamaha agreed that suchprestigious international exposure was invaluable to the brand and that the promotional materials encouraged distributors and dealers to promote the company's involvement locally.

Our Brief: People who love their Fairline want the world to know that they are Fairline owners, so demand for branded items is high. Fairline owners expect quality too. Fairline were looking for an official licensed merchandise partner and whoever was going to run the merchandising needed to make sure that it was high quality, tasteful and reflected the Fairline brand.
Our Solution: In a nutshell, we put our money where our mouth was and went into business as Fairline's official Licensed Merchandise Partner. Perhaps not such a surprise when you consider that we've been working with Fairline for over 20 years and have an excellent understanding of their brand. We took the problem right out of the client's hands becoming responsible for the
-
whole programme. This included selecting the products, sourcing them, designing the use of the logo, distributing and selling the finished items through Fairline dealers or direct to Fairline customers. We set up and operate an online shop to sell Fairline accessories across the globe through their website.
Our Result: A very relaxed client. Instead of worrying about jackets, mugs and key rings piling up in their warehouse, Fairline were able to concentrate on the requests piling up in their order book. They're also delighted to see the Fairline brand being promoted through reliable delivery of quality goods.

Our Brief: In the competitive drinks industry Blackthorn Cider, produced by Constellation Europe plc, needed to enhance its image amongst opinion forming, mainly, male audience. In order to do this we were required to re-position the brand's persona so that it was more closely aligned with its target audiences' aspirations, while differentiating it from its main competitor.
Our Solution: To create a campaign under the theme "West Coast UK" that aimed to reinforce the brand's provenance in a style that reflected the desirable leisure lifestyle for which the region is renowned. Over 4,500 licensed premises were targeted. For every pint of Blackthorn sold, consumers received a £5 West Coast voucher which could be used to redeem against a range
-
of desirable gifts such as surfboards, mountain bikes, rail travel and balloon flights. The cost of the discount was funded by the 3rd parties in return for the free publicity. The mechanic also featured across 3.5 million cans and bottles enabling consumers to exchange their ring pull and bottle caps to purchase the featured gifts at discounted prices. The programme also had its own
website which became the essential guide to "what's on" in West Coast UK and included surf cams, details of music events and accommodation guides, as well as games. Blackthorn also sponsored numerous sport events throughout the region, supported by high profile sporting brand ambassadors.
-
Our Result: In the Off Trade, Blackthorn became the fastest growing cider brand year-on-year (+44%), while similarly impressive figures were achieved in its On Trade heartland. But above all, the campaign firmly established Blackthorn's credentials in the lifestyle arena and positively changed its image amongst its core audience.

Our Brief: Their exciting WaveRunner machines are the choice of more rental site operators than any other personal watercraft so Yamaha not only wanted to tempt holidaymakers to try them out, but also to give them the chance of owning their own high performance machine. The challenge was to devise an exciting competition which would both stimulate rental uptake and collect
customer data for future sales leads. Yamaha wanted data ... and as much of it as possible. If Yamaha could collect personal information from some of the one million people who rent a PWC on Europe's beaches every year, they'd have a very good idea where to target their sales drive.
-
Our Solution: We created a pan-European competition that offered holidaymakers the chance to win a Yamaha WaveRunner, as well as other Yamaha watersports products and accessories ... and capture their personal details at the same time. Not surprisingly the promotion needed a name that would be understood by all nationalities; so 'Rent it! Win it!' was born. Anyone renting
a WaveRunner from one of a hundred or so selected sites across Europe collected a smart credit card with a unique code, entitling them to enter the competition online when they got home.
Rental locations, mostly on beach sites, meant a huge amount of multi-language material was designed, -
produced and distributed including banners, posters, stickers and leaflets to steer customers towards the action. We also sourced, designed and supplied the plastic cards, each with a unique code hidden under a scratch panel. But that was only half the job; to enter Rent it! Win it!, the renter needed to visit our dedicated, multi-lingual competition website, complete a form that
collected their personal details and validate their unique code. Throughout the campaign, Yamaha were able to see just how many people were visiting and registering on a daily basis. Finally, we managed an e-mail campaign to inform the lucky winners.
Our Result: Some very happy winners among over 4000 -
participants who entered from all around Europe, a lot of very happy Yamaha customers (the rental site operators who had seen a sharp increase in their business during the promotion) and quality data for Yamaha. Due to the success of the campaign it is repeated annually.

Our Brief: Each year Yamaha's Marine Group requires visual images, to showcase their new outboard engines, appropriately paired with the most recently released boats as well as the new models joining their extensive range of YAM inflatables. The aim? To provide a sufficient portfolio of images, with a focus on both product and lifestyle, to fulfil the requirements for a wide range of
pan-European marketing activity for the forthcoming year.
Our Solution: Working closely with the client, Willoughby Stewart planned, organised and directed the entire shoot, which took place over a period of around two weeks, in the South of France. We researched and scouted the area before writing and story boarding the shooting -
scripts. We sourced and commissioned the photographers, the model team and provided the agency support crew. We worked closely with our client arranging the boat and engine transportation and the shoot schedule. All of the shoot logistics including provision of models and props as well as flights, accommodation and transport were arranged by the
Willoughby Stewart team. Once on site we directed an almost non-stop schedule of still and video image shooting, usually starting at dawn and often finishing as the sun went down.
Our Result: In short, thousands of high quality images and over twenty hours of HD video footage. For Yamaha, -
the result is a comprehensive library of imaging we use for promotion throughout Europe. Still visuals complement the style and content of our movies, creating a singular 'look' and tone of voice. This approach not only enhances the product and brand image, but also gives a strong visual flavour of the enjoyment to be had from getting out on the water with Yamaha.

Our Brief: Canon UK required a tailored exhibition stand solution that would enable their field sales agents throughout the UK and Ireland to quickly and simply present a professional Canon UK presence at multiple UK events and exhibitions. The brief called for a solution that could meet a number of options that varied in size, requirement and timescales as attendance was
often at short notice.
Our Solution: Willoughby Stewart's twenty year exhibition experience in providing stand design solutions were presented. Using Willoughby Stewart's "modularstands" product, Canon were able to see the true value and flexibility of this portable modular -
exhibition stand system. Our response to Canon UK showed them how various field agents kits could be pooled together and simply re-configured to form a much larger stand design suitable for use at more prestigious events. With short build up times, Willoughby Stewart's solution would enable their installation crew to build the stand in under two days.
Our Result: Canon UK were so pleased with Willoughby Stewart's concept that they committed to purchasing "modularstands" system to enable use at both small events across the UK as well as continually adding to their kit to form larger stand designs. The cost savings using our "modularstands" system along with savings on installation and breakdown charges as well
-
as stand transportation costs, enabled Canon's Exhibition budget to go that much further.
